Yeah, but how'd the US officials do on the spelling portion of the test? Did they score better or worse than the Yahoos who wrote this article and its headline?Also, I'd like to give a "happy birthday" shout-out to MAMA GRAMMARPHILE. To the mother who always helped me practice for spelling bees, came to my spelling bees, cooked me spelling bee victory dinners and gave me awesome presents after I'd won spelling bees (I remember that cute poem you wrote for me in third grade, and it still makes me smile), and who tried her hardest to make certain that my spelling and grammar was up to par so that I could someday write a snarky grammar/spelling humor blog (and not have my grammar featured as fodder for anyone else's snarky grammar/spelling blog)...thank you for all you've done for me, Mom. You're the best. I hope you have a wonderful birthday!
